Lakroz

What can we use in a natural product ? Our range of natural products use ingredients from across Africa.

While some of our raw ingredients, like shea butter or baobab oil are well known, others remain a well-guarded secret.

Lets take a closer look at some of our less well-known ingredients and their remarkable properties.

Kinkeliba

Kinkeliba is a plant that grows in the countries of the Sahel – Senegal, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

Used as an infusion, it is renowned for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

The Senegalese also use it to treat fevers and anaemia.

At Lakroz, we’re love Kinkeliba’s antioxydant properties.

Using kinkeliba helps your protect your body against attack from external elements like pollution. The kinkeliba used in Lakroz products is sourced from Senegal.

You can find kinkeliba and aloe vera working in harmony in our Fraiche Légèreté cleansing lotion

Wild grape

Also know as the cape grape, wild grape is native to the Burkinabé.

Its leaves, bark, roots and fruit are all used as a remedy for sore throats, rheumatism and even mouth ulcers.

The bark calms inflamed tissue and helps heal cuts. This technique is used by both men and women in their traditional rituals.

At Lakroz, we use wild grape as an antioxidant to combat spots and reddening. It also offers a natural defence for your skin, as well as being your ally for soothing sensitive skin.

You can find wild grape in our Douce Protection moisturising cream and Onctueux Apaisement face mask.

Desert date

Just like kinkeliba, desert date comes from Africa’s Sahel region.

It is renowned among practitioners of natural medicine for its antiviral, anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties.

Its oil is the extracted from the fruit by cold-pressing.

At Lakroz, we discovered desert date oil is perfect to hydrate and soften skin thanks to the high fatty acid content.

Kinkeliba oil absorbs easily into the skin, making it ideal for oily and mixed skin types.

You can find desert date oil in our Caresse Nourrissante body cream, Douce Protection face cream, our Lisse Pureté and Délicate Détox face and body scrubs and our Onctueux Apaisement face mask.

M’balaka

M’balaka is a tropical tree from West Africa. At Lakroz we source m’balaka from Cameroon.

This slow-maturing tree only fruits after ten years. Once mature, its fruits can be cooked to make them edible. Otherwise they are toxic if not prepared with great care.

In traditional medicine, M’balaka is used as an infusion to clean wounds.

The tree is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

At Lakroz, we’re interested in the oil extracted from the fruits, which we we add to our natural products.

A rich source of rare fatty acids, it brings out your skin’s natural softness to ensure a velvety quality.

You can find M’balaka in our Douce Protection moisturising cream and Onctueux Apaisement face mask.
